Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, recently got to pick Aaron Rodgers brain on what happened over the last few seasons between him and Packers GM Brian Gutekunst. Some quotes from Rodgers, may come to no surprise to some, and shocking to others.

When Aaron found out the Packers drafted Jordan Love:

"That's when I went and poured myself a little glass of Anejo and waited for somebody to call me."

Aaron was told that the decision to draft Jordan love was strictly the GM's, to protect the relationship between Matt LaFleur and Rodgers.

"I had friends who said, 'Hey, Matt looked super excited when they made the draft pick. And I said, 'I don't care, honestly.' They made the pick. They all signed off on it."

Referencing the draft after the Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers: "Did I wanna, years down the line, go, 'Well, what if we had just taken somebody who could impact our team because we had just gone to the NFC Championship?' Yeah, of course, I don't think any other competitor would say anything differently."

Rodgers request to Packers front office on changes regarding how the treat 'The People' :

Rodgers said the communication between himself and Brian Gutekunst improved after having their "heart to heart." But also said, "It still wasn't anywhere near what I've already enjoyed here with the Jets in just a few short weeks."

Russ Ball was seemingly the only one who acted on Rodgers' wishes, "I mean, Russ definitely made an effort to be more seen, to be a better communicator, to be around more, to interact with the guys more, and I really appreciated his effort to grow and listen to some of the things I was saying and to try and make the culture and place a better environment. I thought Russ more than anybody, really showed that he cared and showed a lot of personal growth, and I give him credit for that."

The Davante Adams split:

Adams, who was offered less than Christian Kirk entering his final year of his contract, was offended. Rightfully so. "They offered him less many than Christian Kirk and Davante is going, 'Are you serious right now? I'm the best receiver in the league, and you're gonna offer me less than Christian Kirk?' With all due respect, Kirk is not on Davante's level." Rodgers said.

"By the time he got to the end of it (Davante's final year under contract in GB) I think he kind of made up his mind he was gonna go somewhere else." Rodgers said.

Aaron Rodgers no-showing at OTA's, Packers not satisfied with his commitment and effort:

"When I'm in, I'm all-in, and you wanna ride with offseason workouts? I won MVP without doing offseason workouts. Was my commitment any less then? I'd say not at all." Rodgers said.

"I think that's just a cop-out written to try and find something to disparage me about, when you know what offseason workouts are really about, it's completely ridiculous."

The months after last season's ending:

The Packers told Rodgers to take as much time as he needed, and that they wanted him to retire a Packer. "We'll figure everything else out, but we want you to be here."

Gutekunst and Rodgers planned on meeting in Southern California following the season. Why it didn't happen, is still up in the air.

"Life happens, when I hit him back he was already out of town. It wasn't like I hit him back five days later. He hit me up the morning of one day, and I hit him up either the night or the next morning of the next day and he was gone."

Following the meeting that never happened, the Packers never made an effort to talk to Rodgers, he said.

"I have zero or one bar at the house, so you call me and sometimes it goes through, sometimes it does not. Everybody who knows me, when I'm out west, they know (that FaceTime) is how to get ahold of me. So you can say whatever you want about that, but that's the fuc*ing truth."

"Did Brian text me more than I texted him? Yeah, but did I ghost him? No. You're gonna say you couldn't get ahold of me and that's why we had to move on? C'mon man, just tell the truth. You wanted to move on, you didn't like the fact that we didn't communicate all the time. Listen, I talk to the people that I like."
