Get Excited About The 2023 Packers

We are almost ready for the Green Bay Packers regular season and many Packer fans are not yet ready to predict what kind of season Green Bay is going to have. I too am not ready to take the leap and announce that the Packers will be a playoff team and have predicted that the Pack might be around 500 with a slim chance to win the division. But I am here to tell you it is ok for us Packer fans to admit that we are excited about this football team. Go ahead people and just say it out loud - this team has some exciting players on it! Here is what I am excited for:

1. The defensive front:

Say it Packer fans - Colby Wooden and Karl Brooks are gonna play for this team and they are going to make some disruptive plays. Jonathan Ford and TJ Slaton are going to play the nose and allow Kenny Clark to move around and have his best season. The Packer front is going to produce more negative yardage plays then they have in a very long time. Get excited about the depth at the edge position. Enagbare, Hollins, Smith, Van Ness and Cox are going to pressure the opposing quarterbacks this year. And yes we are going to see the comeback of Rashan Gary this season.

2. The wide receivers:

Get fired up for the second seasons of Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. Watson proved last year and has continued to show that he is a legit number one talent and Doubs has definitely shown this off season that he is a legit number two. Let’s also get fired up about Jayden Reed and Malik Heath. These two players showed out against the Patriots and I am here to say these two players are going to make some splash plays this season.

3. Rookie tight ends:

A lot has been said about the speed of Musgrave and many pundits have not said much about Tucker Kraft. I have seen so many things from these two players to tell you it is ok to get excited. Kraft has that edge to him. Look at how many different plays Lafleur has drawn up trying to get the tight ends involved. Yes, they are rookies and will have some bad plays, but there is way more upside to these guys and it is time to get fired up for the tight end position in Green Bay!

4. Zach Tom and Rasheed Walker:

What a surprise Rasheed Walker has been so far in year two. The former Penn State lineman has been very impressive in filling in for Bakhtiari in the preseason. And what can you say about Tom? Look no further than the Love TD pass to Reed against the Patriots. You have to get excited about a tackle stonewalling a guy and coming to the rescue of his QB during altercations.

5. Jordan Love:

It is perfectly ok to say you are excited about Jordan Love as your QB. It doesn’t mean you hate Aaron Rodgers or that he will be the 3rd straight HOF Green Bay quarterback. It simply means we have seen enough to say that the Packers are gonna be good at the QB position. Listen to Love in the post game speeches talk about the plays. When he said he had to wait for Reed to clear the linebackers, that tells you all you need to know. He has learned how to play the position after 3 years of watching a hall of famer do it. It is time to get excited about the progress that Love will make over the course of a full season playing quarterback.

We have made it through OTA’s, training camp and preseason games, so get excited about this team. I am not here to tell you this is a super bowl team or that there will not be some lows and growing pains this season. I am just here to tell you it is ok to be excited about this team. The youth is exciting, the lack of expectations is exciting, the unknown is exciting, the talent is exciting, and the future is exciting. So Packer fans no more R-E-L-A-X talk let’s instead get fired up for this team!
