Throughout the Packers history, there are many Hall of Famers and generational players that we could all point to and then elaborate on their successful careers. Who are the guys that don't get talked about as much, but should?
Here are the 10 most underrated players in Packers history:
1. Boyd Dowler
Boyd Dowler was a wide receiver for the Packers from 1959-1969. During that era the team was FILLED with championship and hall of fame caliber players. With 448 receptions and 40 TD's during his Packers career, he's often overshadowed by the many talented players during the Lombardi Era.
2. James Lofton
James Lofton was a wide receiver for the Packers from 1978-1986. Lofton is a Hall of Famer, and still, his name does not come up as often as it should when talking about Packer greats.
3. Jim Taylor
Jim Taylor was a running back for the Packers from 1958-1966. Playing next to Bart Starr and Paul Hornung, Taylor was commonly the third name to be talked about during his era. Also, playing in the NFL during the same time as Jim Brown, Taylor was usually 2nd fittle to Brown during his era.
4. Gilbert Brown
Gilbert Brown was a defensive tackle for the Packers from 1993-1999, 2001-2003. Another case where Gilbert was on a team full of superstars in the late 90's, he played a crucial part in the Packers Super Bowl run in 1996.
5. Chester Marcol
Chester Marcol was a kicker for the Packers from 1972-1980. Despite leading the Packers in scoring for multiple seasons, along with game-winning kicks AND touchdowns, Chester Marcol has been moved down the line after other successful kickers have played for the Packers since his tenure in the 70's.
